Hi, I’m Nasir. My love for the outdoors began in childhood, when the beauty of nature sparked my curiosity to explore more of the world’s most stunning hiking trails. Back then, I didn’t have fancy hiking boots or high-end gear—just a pair of slippers (yes, slippers!) that I wore on many of my early hikes, often slipping and sliding along the way. Later, I upgraded to running shoes, but they were far from the support I needed for the rugged terrain.
I’ve lost count of how many pairs of shoes I’ve worn out on the trail. The lack of proper hiking gear meant I was constantly repairing and reusing old gear until I could finally afford the right equipment for hiking, camping, and backpacking. Those early experiences taught me a lot about the importance of gear that can handle the demands of the outdoors, and I’ve never looked back.
This journey—the joy of discovering new places, learning from mistakes, and finding the right gear—is what inspired me to create this blog. I wanted to share my insights and help other hikers and outdoor enthusiasts make the most of their adventures. From practical tips and trail guides to in-depth reviews of the gear I use and test on real-life hikes, Hiking Insights is here to help you get outdoors with confidence.
I put every piece of hiking, camping, and backpacking gear to the test in real field conditions. I want to provide fellow adventurers with honest, hands-on reviews that go beyond the sales pitches. My goal is simple: to help you choose gear that works in the backcountry, so you can focus on what really matters—exploring the great outdoors.
The best gear I’ve used has made my hikes safer, more enjoyable, and far less stressful, especially when the terrain gets tough. With the right equipment, you don’t have to worry about the little things and can truly immerse yourself in nature.
These days, I’m traveling the globe to explore new hiking destinations and experience the beauty of camping in remote places. Along with my adventures, I dive into books and resources on hiking, backpacking, gear techniques, survival skills, and more—constantly learning to improve my skills and pass on the knowledge I’ve gained.
I hope by sharing my experiences and lessons learned, I can help you make the most out of your own outdoor journeys.
